The textiles featured in this exhibition were all curated from the collection of Kadar and Anton Lucas.

Kadar and Anton have a long history of supporting Indonesian projects here in Australia and in Indonesia.

For close to four decades, Kadar and Anton have inspired and supported Australians to engage with Indonesia through a range of activities, including education and music.

The original Pola: motif exhibition in 2016, and this website, is just one example of the many projects they have generously helped to bring to fruition.

A respected Indonesianist, Anton Lucas taught at Flinders University (South Australia) from 1981 until his recent retirement, specialising in Indonesian language and culture, and issues of governance and the environment. He was Director of the Flinders Asia Centre from 2004 to 2009.

In Indonesia, Kadar rents out three beautiful studio apartments and units in the city of Yogyakarta under the name Omah Permadi AirBnB.
